Dr. Brian J. Mignola, MD, is an outstanding doctor!..., Aug 22, 2011

OUTSTANDING DOCTOR! Dr. Brian J. Mignola, MD, is a really great family doctor. He has been taking care of the medical needs of myself and my parents for several years. He always has been very attentive to all of us. Dr. Mignola is very intelligent as well as very professional. He knows medical issues extremely well and is able to help his patients effectively. In addition, he is very pleasant and down to earth. He treats everyone with respect and takes the time to listen to what his patients have to say and how they feel. He is a very decent and good hearted human being. He cares. In a day and age where it is so hard to find a reliable, thorough, knowledgeable, competent, and trustworthy professional of any kind (medical, financial, legal, etc.), Dr. Mignola is such a person and possesses all of these characteristics. That is, he is reliable, thorough, knowledgeable, competent, and trustworthy. I trust Dr. Mignola. He is the best family physician in Staten Island and NYC.

0/10. Dr. Mendel's sloppy medical practice set me back over 2 years worth of training progress...., Apr 10, 2012

I injured my shoulder in 2010 while training with a barbell. This is the doctor I ended up going with while looking for a sports medicine doctor who specializes in shoulders. After waiting 3 months for my appointment, and 45 minutes waiting at their office for my appointment, I got maybe 5 minutes of time with the doctor. He ignored me completely when I tried explaining the type of pain I'm going through, and when the injury occurred. He injected my shoulder with cortizone, and told me it was just inflammation. In 2012, my shoulder is getting worse, to the point where I can't ignore the pain at all. I schedule an appointment with a different doctor and the University of Iowa, and on the first appointment, they schedule an arthrogram and MRI. The MRI confirmed that I have a tear in my labrum. If Dr. Mendel would have listened to me, this would have been dealt in 2010, and I would be able to continue training. But now I need surgery, and recovery looked like it'll take between 6-12 months. I can't train during that time. All this because Dr. Mendel refused to give quality healthcare (but still charge a premium healthcare price). My only regret is that this review will give Dr. Mendel 1 star, when it's currently at 0.
Dr. Doubek is a misogynist who thinks women who use birth control are sluts..., Mar 2, 2012

From: Michael Doubek Date: Thu, Mar 1, 2012 at 2:37 AM Subject: You'd be surprised To: Me I'm a Board-Certified ER doc, and I totally agree with Rush. I'm sick of paying excessive taxes so these sluts can screw every horny loser who buys them a drink. If she's too cheap to buy her own birth control, and doesn't insist of her partner using a condom, and gets knocked-up, she shouldn't expect others to pay for her medical bills. The federal govt. extorts money from us taxpayers, and PAYS her to have the little bastard. I say, if she can't pay her bills, she should be arrested, and the baby be adopted. This country has NO accountability, and over 1/3 of Americans are living on money they don't themselves earn. It must stop. Welfare whores need to pay their bills, like the rest of us. Maybe this opinion hits a little too close to your home... http://jezebel.com/5889719/crap-email-from-a-dude-rush-limbaugh-fanboy-extravaganza-edition
More interested in billing for office visits than needs of patient..., Feb 3, 2012

If you are looking for someone who lectures you on eating and exercise (even if you are fit and at target weight), if you are looking for a doctor who requires an office visit for any kind of information, this is your doctor. My own experience is that he tries to require more office visits than are necessary. I look for a doctor that is willing to establish a patient/doctor relationship with me and understand who I am and what my needs are. Sometimes that means just phoning in a prescription or giving advice over the phone.
Avoid Dr. Curtis Buchheit currently working at Three Rivers Health...., Jan 30, 2012

Doesn't listen and he likes to spend a lot of time talking. If he does give you the chance to say something, he interrupts you and doesn't give you the chance to finish your question. He will ask you if you have any questions but it's always at the end of the visit and he is standing up with his hand on the door knob ready to end the visit. His answers are brief. The front desk staff at the Three Rivers office never return phone calls and mostly doesn't want to be bothered with phone calls from patients- even when it's an emergency. Trying to get a prescription refill is a waiting game that could take over a month. Please conduct your own research because I don't want to include the details I found out second-hand. Let me just sum it up as he has had a lot of complaints and is very egotistical. He likes to present himself as the owner of his workplace-which it isn't. And that the office staff is his staff-which they are not. There are so many negative things I could report to you about Dr. Curtis Buchheit, but it might be better if you did a little research on your own. Good Luck!
  judgemental/egotistical/condescending attitude/know it all..., Jan 4, 2012

Unfriendly staff. Doctor doesn't listen completely to what you're saying She's quick to make a diagnosis before listening completely to what you have to say and before test results are back unwilling to admit when she's made a mistake
