Disappointed with Dr. Brian S. Edkin's abandonment of care after so many mistakes..., Sep 23, 2011 Dr. Edkin performed 2 hip implants on my wife using the DePuy ASR implants. He did such a poor job on both that my wife never recovered from crippling pain, then he informed her that both of her implants had been recalled due to a high failure rate and poisoning from chromium and cobalt. He offered no apology, no remedy, and no advice. As soon as he felt she became a liability to his practice he basically dropped her. It took him 8 months after informing her of the implant recall and that she could be in danger of chromium and cobalt poisoning, to do a blood test for it and he found her metal levels were elevated. She has had these implants in her body for over 2 years. Aside from a test for infection he ran because of her constant crippling pain he basically told her “just give it time”. He never did the appropriate testing to discover her true condition. So we had to find another specialist and we did. They immediately ordered MRI, Bone Scan and Hip aspirations to determine her true condition, after which they replaced both implants correcting Dr. Edkin’s work. They found and removed significant damage of her soft tissue from chromium and cobalt ions. If we had continued to trust Dr. Edkin that damage would have only been getting worse, and who knows how long he would have let it go?

Cold and uncaring. MAJOR complications after surgery that would have been avoided if he actually res..., May 7, 2012 Cold and uncaring. He refused to listen when told there was excruciating pain. There was MAJOR complications from the surgery which resulted in going to emergency with Bile leaked into entire abdomen and 77 days were spent in the hospital, 3 weeks of which on a ventilator. Doctor would not even look the family or patient in the eyes after that. There is more but I think i made my point. |

I recommend Dr. Montalbano all the time. In fact he just did a very new procedure on my son (which ..., Mar 16, 2012 Prior to my total knee replacement, the pain level was constantly between a 7-10. I was walking with a cane because my knee was constantly hurting me. Going up and down stairs was almost impossible. I was being woken up during the night from the knee pain and therefore was not getting a restful night’s sleep. I tried to exercise as much as possible but it was difficult. I started to become somewhat of a hermit because when you can’t walk you really can’t do much. I was starting to have to take time off of work because of the pain. Activitites that I lived doing, (dancing, racquet ball, walking) I wasn’t able to do any longer. I have been using Dr. Montalbano for over 10 years. I first saw him at Bayley Seton Hospital when he was taking care of another patient in the pre-op area. I was so impressed with how he was treating that patient that when he left I asked the woman who he was. Later on when I needed an orthopedist I went to see him and have been using him ever since. As far as office staff goes – I have never had a problem. Always courteous, polite, very informative, helpful and respectful of your privacy. (Even though I scheduled surgeries and cancelled them I was always treated the same.) Dr. Montalbano and his staff are always up on the latest surgical techniques, surgical procedures and treatments. Waiting time is usually not too long. When I would call in with any questions, someone always got back to me in a very reasonal amount of time. After finally scheduling the surgery, that I actually went through with, Dr. Montalbano and Michelle Pokrassa (RPA) went over the surgical procedure and any questions I had they went over with me several times until I felt that I was comfortable with the knowledge. The surgery went so much better than expected. I was so frightened of being in the hospital over a weekend but I have to say that the weekend staff was better than the weekday staff. I was very impressed with the surgery |

My family Refuses To See Her Again. Very Disagreeable!..., Jan 5, 2012 My family will not be seeing Dr. Shah again. If we had not researched her credentials after the fact, we would have sworn she was not even a doctor. She argued with us over refills for medicines that we take for diabetes and thyroid disease though we have taken these medicines to treat these illnesses for several years. She was very disagreeable about everything. It was so hard to deal with her that one of us just agreed with her about everything to keep from having arguments again so as to be able to leave her office promptly because the entire visit had been such an ordeal. We do not recommend her. |

poor service, inaccurate information, disregard for patient values or input..., Dec 17, 2011 I am a white male in my 30s. I was operated on by Dr. McLemore for anal hpv. I do not recommend Dr. McLemore unless you are very desperate. I trusted her too much. She cut me up really bad and caused me unreasonable amounts of pain. She destroyed a lot of healthy tissue and I felt this was unnecessary. She never apologized or admitted that she made a mistake. She was unsympathetic and uncaring toward me when I was distraught and in pain. She was often impatient, cold, antagonistic and stubborn. She didn't seem to care about the pain or anxiety she caused me. She became antagonistic toward me and called me a risk to her practice because I felt I had had complications from the surgery. Some people love her, but I think if you have a bad experience, she will turn against you and become mean and uncaring. |

Don't waste your time with this quack, better doctors around...., Nov 25, 2011 Unprofessional bedside manner. Switched doctors after a few visits with this quack. He is always running late, does not keep a professional distance from his staff and/or patients. Definitely a pill pushing doctor if that's all you're looking for. Don't waste your time with this quack, there are much better doctors in the area. |
