I dislike him as a professional and person. Boring, sad, empty, self-assured, and intanigbly venomous towards his colleagues. His students also confess that it is hardr to remain awake during his classes.

3 months 4 appt.- brought actual MRI, but not enough..., Feb 23, 2012

After waiting for over 3 months for my appointment, I arrived carrying all the necessary MRI's (which all my other doctor's said was the preferred method, so they could see & interpret on their own,) she refused to even talk with me until I could present the 'doctor's notes' that went with the MRI's. She was very unpleasant, but 'offered' me the opportunity to 're-schedule' - Not necessary. I didn't want to return to someone who apparently did not trust herself enough to read the MRI's with out seeing what a different doctor had interpreted before her. Not recommended - Not even nice!

Unhelpful, sarcastic, self-assured. Easy to get appointment in, but then.... I am disappointed and would advise that he takes some fellowships or conituing education courses and then rejoin his colleges in oractice.

DO THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO SURGERY WITH DR. ALDEA: 1) Ask for the refund policy before you pay ANYTHING. You might not be provided the refund policy after you've paid the deposit. There are many outs for him not to return money if the surgery doesn't happen. 2) Don't be fooled by the good reviews out there. Some sites allow surgeons to only display the good reviews and not the negative ones. 3) Research to see if there are any lawsuits filed against him first. My experience with Dr. Aldea was NOT pleasant. He showed up 1 hr late for my surgery. Many of the nursing staff at St. Francis commented that he's frequently late and his surgeries always run over (which means you'll pay much more in the end!) On the OR table we both learned I had an irregular heartbeat. Dr. Aldea canceled the surgery but agreed to do it later if cardiac clearance was obtained. I got clearance which said that my condition was benign and to proceed with surgery as planned, but he never was satisfied, he found every excuse in the book not to do it. He dodged my calls for months! I wanted to get specifics from him on what he needed from the cardiologist. He kept having his patient coordinators say the same vague thing, "Dr. Aldea needs to know the surgery is safe for you." No cardiologist in their right mind will write "safe" in a letter. They will only say low-high risk. BTW 2 cardiologists wrote that I was low risk for the surgery and at no higher risk than a person who didn't have an irregular heartbeat. After many unreturned calls from Dr. Aldea, I got upset and asked for the truth and a refund if he didn't want to operate. He responded and said that I was ungrateful and here's your refund minus $750 deposit and he said that I didn't want the surgery. I responded that I did want the surgery but was tired of the run around and asked that he personally return a call so that we could clear up misunderstandings. took care of the problem right away,know what he is doing. seen in er for emergency ,diagnosed ina minuite and did great job.I recomond to all my friends . do not give fallow up with him but send to fallow up doctor,who satisfied with the results
