Lousy overpriced doctor, horrible location, very unproffessional staff..., Jan 24, 2012 I went for a routine visit, and was reassured by the staff that it would be covered by my insurance...then when I finished I find out its not! The staff clearly didn't know what they were talking about, and just told me that so I could come in and make the appointment. The Doctor just rushed the entire visit and didn't even seem concerned about me. I got a very bad vibe that he didn't really know what he was doing, and most of the time he just had the assistants do all the work. Will never go again. |

Horrible experience! The doc's office seems to prey on unsuspecting old patients......, Jan 9, 2012 Horrible experience! The doc's office seems to prey on unsuspecting old patients who get referred to him by their primary care physicians. I am 73 years old and my visit which is covered by Medicare and Medical ended up being billed for $225!!! for a half an hour visit. Well, the eye pressure was checked. The insurance didn't pay for $134.90 out of this amount. The office failed to warn that they don't take Medical and about the deductible on Medicare. When asked, I was assured that the visit will be covered. Anyway - now they threaten to turn the whole thing to the collections. Shameless! I live on a limited income of about $600 a month and can't afford to pay that much for a visit. The attempts to negotiate the bill have always ended up with the inability of his office to get the right info about the Medical. But this is not all. During the visit the doc kept pushing his glasses and contacts and was very irritated when we politely rejected the offers. Very awkward. It feels like they are trying to survive at the cost of the most vulnerable. I would never go there again. |

Worst customer service from a Dr.'s office that I have ever witnessed..., Nov 17, 2011 On November 16th, 2011 I wanted to go to Dr. Salas to find out what was causing the pain in my neck and back. When I called the office to schedule an appointment, a woman named Mary Ann picked up. I asked where the address was and she rudely said that it was across the street from the hospital. I didn’t know where the hospital was, and wanted to get the address from her so I could GPS it. She wouldn’t give it to me for some reason. It didn’t bother me at first, but when I told her I would be there in 20 minutes to fill out paper work, she said whatever and hung up the phone on me. I thought it was extremely rude and that maybe I should just find a different doctor. I called back to try and talk to Dr. Salas about the issue, but Marry Ann would not get him for me or give me his email address. I told her I would not schedule an appointment with them if she was going to continue being rude and having poor customer service. Before I could even ask for Dr. Salas’ email address she hung up on me. I really wanted to talk to Dr. Salas and inform him of Mary Ann’s rude behavior, so I went into his office to speak with him. I asked to speak with a supervisor and it ended up being Mary Ann. I told her I was offended by how rude she was and that I would like to speak with Dr. Salas or to give me his email address. She said if I didn’t leave she would call the cops on me. I couldn’t believe it, all I wanted was an email address, but she thought she could call the cops on me so Dr. Salas wouldn’t find out, or receive a complaint about her. I never was rude or used foul language to instigate such a response from her. I guess she has never heard of the internet. I never had the chance to actually meet Dr. Michael Salas, so I can’t review on how he is as a doctor, but after I witnessed who he hired as a supervisor. I am inclined to think that he must not be that good if he can’t hire someone with good customer service. It all starts at the top with a business’ |

Always patient, thorough and well versed in his specialty..., Nov 5, 2011 Dr. Saltzman is always thorough in his testing, treatment and explanations; always answering my questions completely and understandably. When I was referred to and had a bad experience with another specialist, Dr. Saltzman immediately referred me to someone else with no questions asked, so that I would be comfortable and confident in that doctor as well. His care and concern are exemplary. I always feel safe under his care and that I'm getting the best care with no cut corners. |

Dr. James S Pratty at AMHA Medical Group - Review ..., Oct 25, 2011 Dr. Pratty is very good at what he does. He makes educated suggestions that are derived from years of experience. Since I started seeing Dr. Pratty, his directions in medication and action has helped me a lot. Everyone at his office was very friendly and informative. I am seen on time, and my appointments last the entire length of the scheduled time. Sometimes he gives too much direction, in a foreceful way, his intentions are of good nature, and he speaks from a very experienced career and extensive knowledge of psychiatric medicine. He has helped a close friend of mine with addiction, and his qualifications for being an addictionologist has proven its worth. I would recommend him to a friend. |
