LONG WAITS, NO HELP, HORRIBLE CARE!! RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!..., May 7, 2013

Horrible experience! Long, long, long waits.... I was in terrible pain for FIVE weeks! This doctor let me suffer and almost die!!! YES DIE!! I would have died had I not pleaded for some kind of help over and over again!!
Misleading web site. Does not live up to his claims of expertise and pain relief...., Apr 5, 2013

Dr Filler's website misleads people like me. I thought that his MRN and self proclaimed expertise and skill would help me with my chronic pain problems. So I visited Dr Filler at great expense to get an MRN and a diagnosis. Dr Filler recommended 3 very expensive injections in the front, side and back of my right hip. I did not have hip problems before the injections but immediately had problems and more pain then before. I did not have a bad case of piriformis syndrome before the injections......I do now after the injections. I have much more pain in the area of all 3 injections. The muscles and tendons where he gave the injections are chronically tight. I spoke with Dr Filler about this and he offered to do surgery. I can't help thinking that he knows that his very expensive injections will lead to his even more expensive surgery. Since the injections I have seen many bad reviews about Dr Filler. I think he is a very bad Doctor who takes advantage of people to make money. Beware of this man...his web site is like a spider's web...remember if it is too good to be true..it probably isn't....that was my experience with Dr Filler.
Fantastic Doctor and Staff - was able to get an appointment for the same day..., Mar 18, 2013

Dr. Lazar was really fantastic. I called the office after I had a sudden loss of hearing in one ear. They worked me in for the same day. Dr. Lazar explained that immediate attention was needed since the possibility existed that the hearing loss could be permanent, however unlikely, if not treated immediately. After a short course of steroids, the matter was resolved. I returned to the office a few weeks later for a hearing test, and everything was fine. I’m very grateful to Dr. Lazar and his staff for treating me so quickly and effectively.
Waste of my time, poor attitude, service from staff..., Feb 22, 2013

I had to make at least 12 calls before I was able to reach the office and schedule an appointment. At times the line was not working. Other times the person left me on hold so long I had to hang up. Finally, I spoke with someone able to answer some basic questions and I accepted the first appointment available 2.5 months later. Before agreeing to request her services I requested to meet the doctor and pay for her time. Her staff person said she didn't know what the cost was that the price was up to the doctor. The morning of my appointment the office seemed geared for high volume and low personal attention. I found staff behavior poor. When answering the phone no one identified who they were. None of the 3 women I met after I arrived introduced herself. I saw no name tags. The reception desk person scanned my license without explaining or asking permission. With all the ID theft taking place nationwide that made me uncomfortable. The young woman who escorted us from the reception to the exam room addressed a lady that was there at the same time and I as "dear" and "girls." After I waited in the exam room an unhappy looking woman introduced herself as the office manager and closed the door. She said she was sorry (she didn't appear sorry but rather in a hurry for me to leave). She went on to say that the doctor and her colleagues in the practice never meet people before they become patients, implying I should leave. She waited to make sure I left the exam room.
If you're looking to manage pain, find another doctor!!..., Dec 3, 2012

My wife has Crohn's disease, and finding a Dr. to manage pain in Fairbanks has so far proven impossible. We went to see him, and he didn't feel her input was necessary. All he wanted to do was get her off pain medications. Which would be fine IF there was any way to get rid of the chronic horrific pain that Crohn's causes. He said he had no way of knowing if she was really in pain or not. (Guess they didn't cover Crohn's Disease in his medical school) He was rude and just tried to hide his unwillingness to help behind medical terminology. I would not recommend this Dr. to anyone, not even as an anaesthesiologist for surgery. (After all, he has no way of knowing if you're in pain). If you have Crohn's disease, DO NOT move to Fairbanks! We are now in the process of moving from our home in search of actual medical care...
