Dr. Samantha Quade was amazing with my father and our family. ..., Aug 6, 2010 I cannot possibly express the appreciation myself and my family have for the personal care and compassion, and the time, Dr. Quade (or "Sam", as she came to be known to us as,) gave to our family when my father was seriously injured and was in Harborview recovering from his injuries. The review from the other person that described her as "horrible" and "rude" is puzzling to me as I cannot imagine that kind of behavior from the Dr. Quade we experienced on many occasions over several weeks. I would recommend her without hesitation and with highest regards to anyone who may be in the unfortunate situation to need her services. |

Not the greatest dermatologist for your scalp problems..., Jun 3, 2010 I have went twice to this physician. The first time I visited was with his nurse practitioner. He said my problem was dermatitus (dry scalp). Then i had a follow up with the doctor. He barely touched my scalp and almost didn't look at it. Not to mention the treatment was of no use. I would not recommend this doctor for scalp problems. |

Absolutely love Dr. Bukowski - he has been a great pediatric urologist for my daughter..., May 20, 2010 My daughter has been seeing Dr. Bukowski since 7 wks old for an ectopic ureter issue that connected improperly to her vaginal wall. He did a ureterostomy at 11 wks for her, and left it for approximately 6 mos. That surgery was followed up with a ureter implantation surgery to connect it to the bladder as expected. The next 6 yrs our daughter continued seeing Dr. Bukowski regularly for recurring kidney infections not resolved by the operations. At every visit we usually waited at least an hour. While this sounds like an annoyance to some, when you get in to see him, and he spends as much time with you as you need to get all your questions answered, you grow to appreciate he's one of the few MD's out there that really cares enough to listen to his patients and their concerns and never tries to rush you out to see the next person. In recent discussions around our daughter's situation, he spent over an hour on the phone with me talking through options we have around resolving her infections issues. An hour of no-copay related time as he was driving to his child's baseball game and trying to help us make the best decision for our child's care. I can handle a few delayed appts when I know the outcome involves thorough discussions around our baby girl's situation. On Friday, May 14, our daughter (now 6 1/2) had a second ureteral reimplant surgery under Dr. Bukowski's care. On Sunday the MD on call came to release her without examining any part of her issues. He didn't even know her complications and said very abruptly "it's all normal. You can take out the catheter and go home." Well, as any mother who worries would do, I had Dr. B paged, who spoke to both me and the nurse on the floor and decided we should monitor another day or two. He made the trip personally over to see her the following day and examined before discussing our options. He had been in surgery all day that day at UNC and came specifically for us. Then after a few questions we assumed |

Gerard Shepherd and Duke Urgent Care get thumbs up for thorough yet gentle exam..., Mar 15, 2010 I visited Duke Urgent Care in Durham, NC the morning after being in a serious car wreck. I was extremely bruised and battered and feared I had fractured ribs. Dr. SHepherd was gentle but thorough in examining me. He could have hurt me by being too rough, but he was not rough. He ordered appropriate tests (x-rays, urine to look for blood in case I had injured my kidneys, etc.)and explained what he was foing and why. He made an otherwise unpleasant experience bearable. The entire staff was calm and soothing. The facilities were top notch. I would recommend Gerard Shepherd and DUke Urgent Care to a friend or family member. |
