Very unprofessional and disrespectful office staff ..., Apr 11, 2012

I have an appointment last April 5 at 6pm. I came and waited... the office was closed. I was outside with other patients waiting for them to open the door. 6:20 i called the office and the lady who answered the phone put me on hold for about 5 minutes and just to tell me that the office is closed and they give everyone a call to let us know that the office is closed. I was home the whole day the day before and the day itself but didnt get any calls from them. I called the following day to make a complain and the lady who answered the phone is soooo MEAN! She told me that my name is not on the calendar and told me "You're not even in the calendar so why are you upset it is not our fault if you come over and the office is closed!" What kind of attitude is that? She is representing Dr. Kulessa in a very disrespectful and unprofessional way. I would NOT go back to that doctor again!
  Arrogant & Rude, don't waste your hard-earned $ with this guy!..., Mar 30, 2012

I would absolutely NOT go back to see this guy; he's the epitome of the stereotypically arrogant, rude doctor. When he enters the room, he doesn't even say a simple "hello" or even look at you, for that matter--he simply sits down at the computer with his back turned & begins to brusquely ask questions. I believe in common courtesy--so when I politely asked if he always does this, he replied, "I'm just trying to get to this back pain issue...do I come off as standoffish?" When I answered yes, there was no apology--just a, "Well, it might be a problem for YOU, but that's just the way it is." I was speechless, like WOW. I told him there'd be no need for treatment, promptly left and called my credit card company to dispute my copay charge as soon as I got home. Docs, your years of med school don't give you carte blanche to act like a**holes...especially when we're paying you our hard-earned money!
Dr Dan Sicking - Internal medicine and primary care..., Mar 6, 2012

Dr. Sicking is very laid back, understanding, spends time with you and never rushes. He is thorough and doesn't miss a thing. He has been my primary care physician for over 3 years and I can't say enough good things about him. His staff is always very nice and understands if you might be a little irritable or short with them, due to illness or injury. They are terrific. They do not OVER schedule, so you can almost always get in, the very day you call or the next day. Besides being a brilliant physician, he never talks down to you or treats you like you're a 2nd grader and that is appreciated immensely by me. He is one of the few physicians I have ever had, that explains things to you, the way it should be done. Having several serious medical issues, finding Dr. Sicking, was a godsend. I hate to think I may have to move 80 miles away, in a year or so, due to my job, but you can be sure, I'll make the trip, when needed, as I have no intention of changing doctors. He'd have to retire to get rid of me! :)
Buyer Beware This Dr. barely takes time to talk to the patient, then blindsides the family member...., Feb 9, 2012

I took my Mom in for a migraine. She had not slept for five days because of it and was hallucinating. Dr. Gagan didn't consider that her blood pressure meds. or her migraine meds or the meds they were giving her in an I. V. could have caused this. Or the fact that her thyroid was off. He recommended Resperidal for her. He left the info with me and split, his visit with her all of two minutes or so. I read the med. info and thought he was trying to kill her. It was for schizophrenics mainly. He also said it was for depression. I told him the next day I thought she just needed some sleep. He returned the next day pushing the same drug. I again answered in the negative. A few hours later the pill came via the nurse. At that point I thought I had no choice, as my last two answers had gone unnoticed. I foolishly gave my Mom the med. She became paranoid and scared for her life for the next three days. I was told they didnt know if she would ever be the same. She had two seizures and is now on Keppra. His only reply was that he could give her a different set of meds. He is cold and easily offended. He left me and the other Dr.s and nurses to clean up his mess. It took us eight days total. All over a migraine. All Dr.s covered for him. I'll never forgive myself for not fighting him to the death if thats what it took to defend my helpless Mom.
Horrible experience! The doc's office seems to prey on unsuspecting old patients......, Jan 9, 2012

Horrible experience! The doc's office seems to prey on unsuspecting old patients who get referred to him by their primary care physicians. I am 73 years old and my visit which is covered by Medicare and Medical ended up being billed for $225!!! for a half an hour visit. Well, the eye pressure was checked. The insurance didn't pay for $134.90 out of this amount. The office failed to warn that they don't take Medical and about the deductible on Medicare. When asked, I was assured that the visit will be covered. Anyway - now they threaten to turn the whole thing to the collections. Shameless! I live on a limited income of about $600 a month and can't afford to pay that much for a visit. The attempts to negotiate the bill have always ended up with the inability of his office to get the right info about the Medical. But this is not all. During the visit the doc kept pushing his glasses and contacts and was very irritated when we politely rejected the offers. Very awkward. It feels like they are trying to survive at the cost of the most vulnerable. I would never go there again.
