Dr. Aldea Bamboozled Me, Don't Go to his practice!..., Jan 28, 2012 DO THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO SURGERY WITH DR. ALDEA: 1) Ask for the refund policy before you pay ANYTHING. You might not be provided the refund policy after you've paid the deposit. There are many outs for him not to return money if the surgery doesn't happen. 2) Don't be fooled by the good reviews out there. Some sites allow surgeons to only display the good reviews and not the negative ones. 3) Research to see if there are any lawsuits filed against him first. My experience with Dr. Aldea was NOT pleasant. He showed up 1 hr late for my surgery. Many of the nursing staff at St. Francis commented that he's frequently late and his surgeries always run over (which means you'll pay much more in the end!) On the OR table we both learned I had an irregular heartbeat. Dr. Aldea canceled the surgery but agreed to do it later if cardiac clearance was obtained. I got clearance which said that my condition was benign and to proceed with surgery as planned, but he never was satisfied, he found every excuse in the book not to do it. He dodged my calls for months! I wanted to get specifics from him on what he needed from the cardiologist. He kept having his patient coordinators say the same vague thing, "Dr. Aldea needs to know the surgery is safe for you." No cardiologist in their right mind will write "safe" in a letter. They will only say low-high risk. BTW 2 cardiologists wrote that I was low risk for the surgery and at no higher risk than a person who didn't have an irregular heartbeat. After many unreturned calls from Dr. Aldea, I got upset and asked for the truth and a refund if he didn't want to operate. He responded and said that I was ungrateful and here's your refund minus $750 deposit and he said that I didn't want the surgery. I responded that I did want the surgery but was tired of the run around and asked that he personally return a call so that we could clear up misunderstandings. Lousy overpriced doctor, horrible location, very unproffessional staff..., Jan 24, 2012 I went for a routine visit, and was reassured by the staff that it would be covered by my insurance...then when I finished I find out its not! The staff clearly didn't know what they were talking about, and just told me that so I could come in and make the appointment. The Doctor just rushed the entire visit and didn't even seem concerned about me. I got a very bad vibe that he didn't really know what he was doing, and most of the time he just had the assistants do all the work. Will never go again. |

Friendly, knowledgeable and let's you ask as many questions as you need to. Her patients are her priority and you can be assured that she will be your advocate and ensure your wellbeing, dignity and respect during surgery. |

unresponsive, indifferent medical office with lack of urgency..., Nov 29, 2011 Staff is cold, indifferent, with no sense of urgency. I was extremely concerned about some test results but when I called every few days to ask if they were in, I was made to feel that I was bothering them and there was no attempt to give me an idea of when they would be in, or to expedite results more quickly. I waited a half four to see the doctor, she looked at her watch and made me feel rushed when I was in for the exam. Medical advice seemed reasonable but the lack of urgency or empathy made it a frustrating experience. |
