What Happened To Me During My Outpatient Treatment..., Apr 15, 2010

Before I say anything else, I would like to say first that the other staff, the social worker, the therapists, and group facilitators were all awesome. I was assigned to this doctor through an outpatient hospital program. The doctor seemed to be OK at first but the more I dealt with him the worse it got. It began when I needed a special medication that he himself was not able to prescribe. He was aware that this medication is not to be stopped abruptly and because this was at a hospital, it was his job as covering doctor to find someone who could help me get my medication while I was under his care. He did a poor job because at times I went for days without my medication. Worse is the fact that when discharged from his care, there was to be another doctor already in place to pick up treatment. This was a policy of the hospital program. He discharged me knowingly to a doctor who would not be able to treat me for four days. When I called him for help, he was rude and said something along the lines of because I was discharged he was no longer obligated to treat me. Then he said that he had another patient and hung up on me. His "bedside manner" was cold and uncaring. He let me suffer needlessly. I was able to find a new doctor on my own who was able to treat me, there were several actually. I don't understand why he was unable to do so.

Avoid Dr. Curtis Buchheit currently working at Three Rivers Health...., Jan 30, 2012

Doesn't listen and he likes to spend a lot of time talking. If he does give you the chance to say something, he interrupts you and doesn't give you the chance to finish your question. He will ask you if you have any questions but it's always at the end of the visit and he is standing up with his hand on the door knob ready to end the visit. His answers are brief. The front desk staff at the Three Rivers office never return phone calls and mostly doesn't want to be bothered with phone calls from patients- even when it's an emergency. Trying to get a prescription refill is a waiting game that could take over a month. Please conduct your own research because I don't want to include the details I found out second-hand. Let me just sum it up as he has had a lot of complaints and is very egotistical. He likes to present himself as the owner of his workplace-which it isn't. And that the office staff is his staff-which they are not. There are so many negative things I could report to you about Dr. Curtis Buchheit, but it might be better if you did a little research on your own. Good Luck!
Lousy overpriced doctor, horrible location, very unproffessional staff..., Jan 24, 2012

I went for a routine visit, and was reassured by the staff that it would be covered by my insurance...then when I finished I find out its not! The staff clearly didn't know what they were talking about, and just told me that so I could come in and make the appointment. The Doctor just rushed the entire visit and didn't even seem concerned about me. I got a very bad vibe that he didn't really know what he was doing, and most of the time he just had the assistants do all the work. Will never go again.

First Do No Harm? Dr. Higgins is a Predator in Garden City, KS..., Sep 11, 2011

Not sure why the computer says some weird town's name under location--I'm in Garden City, KS and I quit going to Dr. Kim because she gave me the creeps. And it turns out she completely crossed the ethical line with a patient of hers who was a close friend of mine until Dr. Kim convinced my friend to divorce her husband and move in with her as a lover and cut all ties to her former life. ILLEGAL! Before the affair became public, Dr. Kim tried to prescribe antidepressants to a mutual friend of ours, a close acquaintance of the lover, who was saddened by the strange personality changes she could sense happening as our friend became distant from her family and friends. MISUSE OF AUTHORITY! An OB/Gyn has a responsibility to assist families, not tear them apart. A Doctor who would use medication to cover her own tracks is a criminal.
