Arrogant & Rude, don't waste your hard-earned $ with this guy!..., Mar 30, 2012 I would absolutely NOT go back to see this guy; he's the epitome of the stereotypically arrogant, rude doctor. When he enters the room, he doesn't even say a simple "hello" or even look at you, for that matter--he simply sits down at the computer with his back turned & begins to brusquely ask questions. I believe in common courtesy--so when I politely asked if he always does this, he replied, "I'm just trying to get to this back pain issue...do I come off as standoffish?" When I answered yes, there was no apology--just a, "Well, it might be a problem for YOU, but that's just the way it is." I was speechless, like WOW. I told him there'd be no need for treatment, promptly left and called my credit card company to dispute my copay charge as soon as I got home. Docs, your years of med school don't give you carte blanche to act like a**holes...especially when we're paying you our hard-earned money! |

I recommend Dr. Montalbano all the time. In fact he just did a very new procedure on my son (which ..., Mar 16, 2012 Prior to my total knee replacement, the pain level was constantly between a 7-10. I was walking with a cane because my knee was constantly hurting me. Going up and down stairs was almost impossible. I was being woken up during the night from the knee pain and therefore was not getting a restful night’s sleep. I tried to exercise as much as possible but it was difficult. I started to become somewhat of a hermit because when you can’t walk you really can’t do much. I was starting to have to take time off of work because of the pain. Activitites that I lived doing, (dancing, racquet ball, walking) I wasn’t able to do any longer. I have been using Dr. Montalbano for over 10 years. I first saw him at Bayley Seton Hospital when he was taking care of another patient in the pre-op area. I was so impressed with how he was treating that patient that when he left I asked the woman who he was. Later on when I needed an orthopedist I went to see him and have been using him ever since. As far as office staff goes – I have never had a problem. Always courteous, polite, very informative, helpful and respectful of your privacy. (Even though I scheduled surgeries and cancelled them I was always treated the same.) Dr. Montalbano and his staff are always up on the latest surgical techniques, surgical procedures and treatments. Waiting time is usually not too long. When I would call in with any questions, someone always got back to me in a very reasonal amount of time. After finally scheduling the surgery, that I actually went through with, Dr. Montalbano and Michelle Pokrassa (RPA) went over the surgical procedure and any questions I had they went over with me several times until I felt that I was comfortable with the knowledge. The surgery went so much better than expected. I was so frightened of being in the hospital over a weekend but I have to say that the weekend staff was better than the weekday staff. I was very impressed with the surgery |

Buyer Beware This Dr. barely takes time to talk to the patient, then blindsides the family member...., Feb 9, 2012 I took my Mom in for a migraine. She had not slept for five days because of it and was hallucinating. Dr. Gagan didn't consider that her blood pressure meds. or her migraine meds or the meds they were giving her in an I. V. could have caused this. Or the fact that her thyroid was off. He recommended Resperidal for her. He left the info with me and split, his visit with her all of two minutes or so. I read the med. info and thought he was trying to kill her. It was for schizophrenics mainly. He also said it was for depression. I told him the next day I thought she just needed some sleep. He returned the next day pushing the same drug. I again answered in the negative. A few hours later the pill came via the nurse. At that point I thought I had no choice, as my last two answers had gone unnoticed. I foolishly gave my Mom the med. She became paranoid and scared for her life for the next three days. I was told they didnt know if she would ever be the same. She had two seizures and is now on Keppra. His only reply was that he could give her a different set of meds. He is cold and easily offended. He left me and the other Dr.s and nurses to clean up his mess. It took us eight days total. All over a migraine. All Dr.s covered for him. I'll never forgive myself for not fighting him to the death if thats what it took to defend my helpless Mom. |
