Doctor Neil Blank is THE BEST DOCTOR around, because he helped to save my Husband's life!..., Apr 20, 2010

Hi, Everyone: I just wanted to point out a few things about Doctor Neil Blank... Since I have never met Dr. Blank, in-person, I better give you this story. About a few months ago, my husband had an appointment to see Dr. Blank, for a regular physical. I should also mention, Dr. Blank has also been my husband's regular physician for many, many years. It was on this particular visit, that Dr. Blank had noticed a peculiar lump on my husband's neck. He asked my husband, "What's that lump on your neck?", as he was checking for my husband's vital signs. My husband replied, "I don't know.........What IS that lump on my neck?" So from that point, Dr. Blank referred my husband to a cancer specialist (a Harvard-graduate physician, and one of the best oncologists around). Needless to say, if it wasn't for Dr. Blank's knowledge and intuitiveness, my husband's cancer would have grown to be much worse and the treatment for it, would have been much more difficult! My husband has just completed three (3) cycles of chemotherapy and is beginning his radiation treatments. Thanks to Dr. Neil Blank (and his supportive staff), my husband is now on the road-to-recovery. I could have easily lost my husband (as another statistic, of a person who dies from cancer), however, if Dr. Neil Blank would not have been the /thorough/ physician that he is..... He literally SAVED my husband's life!!! So yeah, we can easily give him and his staff, a five-star rating! :)

Dr Blank is very professional and is very knowledgeable about..., Nov 29, 2009

Dr Blank is very professional and is very knowledgeable about his field which is general practice. Although his bedside manner is for the most part okay he tends to be on the blunt side and sometimes he could use a good dose of tact. He tends not to sugar coat diagnosis and tends to be stern if his orders are not followed. For instance if he tells you to lose twenty pounds and you do not follow through, on the next visit he will lecture you and give you what the end results may be rather bluntly. Although I like the doctor and his staff I dread going sometimes if I have not complied with his wishes. That is basically my only concern. The staff will work with you if you do not have the co-pay. They will never refuse to schedule the appointment for any reason. So while Dr.Blank is a no nonsense doctor he is a consumate professional and I would heartily recommend him to a friend.

Provided extremely poor treatment for my father's cancer..., Jan 25, 2012

Dr. D. treated my dad's throat cancer (a term he never used with any of us). Dad responded very well to chemo and would have to remain on chemo the rest of his life. (His tumor in his neck had burst and he had a nasty wound that he had to deal with, but even it was doing well as he was switched to a milder chemo routine to keep the cancer from growing. And he was doing really well with that treatment.) Dad developed a knee infection and Dr. D stopped all treatment until knee doc released him. Dr. D continued to ignore my phone calls that dad's neck wound was really looking bad, saying he could do nothing for him at this time. Finally, knee doc suggested knee treatment be put on hold so cancer could be treated. So Dad went to see Dr. D and he still said there wasn't anything he could do right now, and he refused to look at his neck when asked to (of course, dad kept it bandaged). We brought dad to Louisville for treatment, but it was too late by then. The oncology doctors in Louisville were just mortified at his neck and the treatment he had received. They found it unimaginable that Dr. D. never looked at his neck (the actual cancer) and ignored his cancer treatment during the course of treatment of the knee infection (9 weeks approximately). Of course, we are heartbroken. I only tell my story in the hopes of helping someone else. In the end, dad regretted mine and my sister's pleas to get a second opinion in Louisville from the beginning. That one step could have changed everything. I hope this review helps someone make a better choice in choosing their oncologist.
My family Refuses To See Her Again. Very Disagreeable!..., Jan 5, 2012

My family will not be seeing Dr. Shah again. If we had not researched her credentials after the fact, we would have sworn she was not even a doctor. She argued with us over refills for medicines that we take for diabetes and thyroid disease though we have taken these medicines to treat these illnesses for several years. She was very disagreeable about everything. It was so hard to deal with her that one of us just agreed with her about everything to keep from having arguments again so as to be able to leave her office promptly because the entire visit had been such an ordeal. We do not recommend her.
This doctor has been sanctioned by the Texas Medical Board..., Jan 4, 2012

This doctor has been sanctioned for negligence, which resulted in the death of a patient. The sanction documents are available to the public. This doctor is not board certified. As such, few if any insurance companies will cover her services.
Most unorganized Doctor ever with a staff that is even worse!..., Dec 9, 2011

This doctor loves consultations at 500 a visit and never even remembers why he had you come in or your name. The only thing that tops that is no return phone calls, no matter how many times they will check and "call you right back". They schedule appointments and don't tell you or better yet send you to a down town office only to find out that it's at an office 30 minutes in the other direction. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR … maybe even one who cares about your family and your time.
This doctor's ratings on vitals and healthgrades must have been entered by his friends!..., Oct 18, 2011

This doctor has an ego as big as the city of Boston and is impatient and uncaring. I was so disappointed. He rushed me through my questions and even ridiculed some of them. He mumbled sarcastically under his breath and in general I left there feeling so awful. He has such good ratings on Vitals and Healthgrades that I can't help but think his friends did them. It doesn't matter how good a doctor he is, his personality was intolerable.
