Dr. Aldea Bamboozled Me, Don't Go to his practice!..., Jan 28, 2012

DO THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO SURGERY WITH DR. ALDEA: 1) Ask for the refund policy before you pay ANYTHING. You might not be provided the refund policy after you've paid the deposit. There are many outs for him not to return money if the surgery doesn't happen. 2) Don't be fooled by the good reviews out there. Some sites allow surgeons to only display the good reviews and not the negative ones. 3) Research to see if there are any lawsuits filed against him first. My experience with Dr. Aldea was NOT pleasant. He showed up 1 hr late for my surgery. Many of the nursing staff at St. Francis commented that he's frequently late and his surgeries always run over (which means you'll pay much more in the end!) On the OR table we both learned I had an irregular heartbeat. Dr. Aldea canceled the surgery but agreed to do it later if cardiac clearance was obtained. I got clearance which said that my condition was benign and to proceed with surgery as planned, but he never was satisfied, he found every excuse in the book not to do it. He dodged my calls for months! I wanted to get specifics from him on what he needed from the cardiologist. He kept having his patient coordinators say the same vague thing, "Dr. Aldea needs to know the surgery is safe for you." No cardiologist in their right mind will write "safe" in a letter. They will only say low-high risk. BTW 2 cardiologists wrote that I was low risk for the surgery and at no higher risk than a person who didn't have an irregular heartbeat. After many unreturned calls from Dr. Aldea, I got upset and asked for the truth and a refund if he didn't want to operate. He responded and said that I was ungrateful and here's your refund minus $750 deposit and he said that I didn't want the surgery. I responded that I did want the surgery but was tired of the run around and asked that he personally return a call so that we could clear up misunderstandings. His coordinator responded that he would not do the surgery until he got

Avoid at all costs!!! Terrible doctor who imposes conservative beliefs on patients!..., May 21, 2013

I had slim pickings with my new HMO so I chose Dr. Galiano because he was downtown near my office. I was always in/out in 30 minutes which was great BUT he would always make snide comments to me. He asked "Why would you need a blood test for STDs? Are you promiscuous?" All I wanted was to get a checkup and figured I could test for STDs since they were already taking my blood. I didn't need a judgement. Recently I went in to get a blood test to see if I was pregnant. This was an unplanned pregnancy so it was really scary. He proceeded to lecture me by saying "The body is made for reproducing and you should not be having sex if you do not want to reproduce." I have never been more offended in my life! He also refused a blood test because he said it would be a waste of money and I needed to wait longer than 2.5 weeks. 2.5 weeks or not I was scared and needed medical guidance in which I received judgement and lectures. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
It Doesn't Get Better Than This - Great Primary Care Doc..., Feb 7, 2013

Unbelievable find. In this day and age its amazing that a doctor like this one exists - one who actually spends TIME with you. I came away feeling like he actually cared about me and not that I was just one of thousands of patients he sees. He made the visit a pleasant experience... and I'm one of those people who hates to go the doctor. With Dr. Don, I can't wait to go back. He's fun just to shoot the breeze with, and even better is the fact that you come away confident that he knows what he's doing. And the staff is great. A fantastic doc. Highly recommended.
The worst experience I've ever had with a doctor! So disappointed!..., Jan 28, 2013

Didn't like Tidwell AT ALL.Judy the NP was sweet but didn't agree with all her advice either.A couple of the office staff were nice including Kay,but receptionist Mina was extremely rude once I decided to leave Tidwell. At 34 weeks Tidwell started implying I might need to deliver early. The first "problem" was the baby wasn't showing sufficient weight gain. Then fluid in the sack seemed low.The next day it was fine. Then baby wasn't moving enough. Then baby showed signs of stress during contractions. Then baby's heartbeat didn't accelerate and stay accelereated during contractions.Every time I went something new was wrong, but the next day the issue would be resolved.VERY SUSPICIOUS!@ 36 weeks I switched to the midwives.I knew they wouldn't pressure me to have a c-section unless it was totally necessary!I had my baby at 38 weeks. He was completely healthy @ 7.1 lbs and 20 1/2 in.Thank you Jesus!Delivery took 4 1/2 hrs but I only pushed 45 minutes!I went all natural. No epidural or anything! My advice:have the courage to leave before it's too late!
Dr Laurence Dahners (UNC Orthopedics) is a dangerous doctor..., Jan 26, 2013

I had osteomyelitis and Dr. Dahners lied to me and told me I did not. It was either he lied or he is incompetent. Dahners mocked me and said I was malnourished. He was just blame mean and egotistical.
Words cannot describe the feelings my family has towards this so-called doctor..., Jan 1, 2013

We saw this Dr. Erlacher in the ER of our local hospital. My 10 year old daughter came in with severe abdominal pain. I was worried that it may be her appendix. After waiting several hours he finally ordered an x-ray in which he saw a "blockage". He diagnosed her pain as constipation without looking further into this so-called blockage. Three days later we ended up in the ER of the nearest city's hospital. (We live in very rural area.) When the doctors there saw this "blockage" on the xray they did an Ct Scan and an ultrasound. She was in surgery within an hour. What this so-called doctor diagnosed as constipation was actually a 10cm cyst on her right ovary. The result was a salpingo-oophorectomy. Her right tube and ovary had to be removed. The surgeon who fixed her said if we had waited any longer it could have killed her. If Dr. Gray Erlacher had been more thorough and less "charismatic" my daughter would not have suffered for as long as she did. He's very lucky she survived.
