  We loved Dr. Dean-- as good as our Boston Doctors!..., Feb 23, 2010

My daughter and I are new to Pensacola and I had a different doctor recommended to me, but I mad a mistake and made an appointment with that other doctor. When something came up and I had to cancel that other appointment, the doctor said that we could NEVER be a patient. I cancelled the day before the appointment, just not 24-hours in advance. I was shocked. I wondered if this was just a really unforgiving culture. In the end, it worked out really well. I met one of the other doctors at my church and found out that many of the doctors at Dr. Dean's office were affiliated with the medical school and they are all really advanced. We were used to this kind of service from living in Boston for so many years where we worked with Doctors affiliated with Tufts, Joslins' and Harvard. I found Dr. Dean to be exactly of that caliber of doctor in our discussions with him. He helped our daughter and I did not have to fight him about over medicating her. We got exactly what she needed.

Horrible experience! The doc's office seems to prey on unsuspecting old patients who get referred to him by their primary care physicians. I am 73 years old and my visit which is covered by Medicare and Medical ended up being billed for $225!!! for a half an hour visit. Well, the eye pressure was checked. The insurance didn't pay for $134.90 out of this amount. The office failed to warn that they don't take Medical and about the deductible on Medicare. When asked, I was assured that the visit will be covered. Anyway - now they threaten to turn the whole thing to the collections. Shameless! I live on a limited income of about $600 a month and can't afford to pay that much for a visit. The attempts to negotiate the bill have always ended up with the inability of his office to get the right info about the Medical. But this is not all. During the visit the doc kept pushing his glasses and contacts and was very irritated when we politely rejected the offers. Very awkward. It feels like they are trying to survive at the cost of the most vulnerable. I would never go there again.

Worst Doctor ever, horrible staff, cares about nothing but your money. Does not know how to use a phone, office staff can help but be horrible nothing is their job. AVOID @ ALL COSTS… HORRIBLE DOCTOR

This doctor loves consultations at 500 a visit and never even remembers why he had you come in or your name. The only thing that tops that is no return phone calls, no matter how many times they will check and "call you right back". They schedule appointments and don't tell you or better yet send you to a down town office only to find out that it's at an office 30 minutes in the other direction. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR … maybe even one who cares about your family and your time.

Dr Shah is very professional, informative, easy-going and efficient! I had two wisdom teeth extracted yesterday and had no down time. No pain or discomfort, and I my mouth stopped bleeding last night. The procedure itself was stunningly quick and painless (I went with the nitrusoxide option... laughing gas). Everyone in his office was knowledgeable and assertive, from the moment you walk into the office it feels comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr Shah for any oral surgery you need! -Candace K.

Dr. Saltzman is always thorough in his testing, treatment and explanations; always answering my questions completely and understandably. When I was referred to and had a bad experience with another specialist, Dr. Saltzman immediately referred me to someone else with no questions asked, so that I would be comfortable and confident in that doctor as well. His care and concern are exemplary. I always feel safe under his care and that I'm getting the best care with no cut corners.
