Creationist, not Scientist, Overprescribes antibiotics..., Mar 19, 2012 If you want to wait forever to get in to see your child's doctor, to have anti-biotics prescribed willy-nilly, or to visit with doctors who believe in creationism and not science then ABC Pediatrics is your practice. My oldest daughter has constant sinus infections, so I took her to an allergist to see if there was an environmental cause for her illness', and in the course of reviewing her medicines, lots of anti-biotics and a steroid. I have been given cause to doubt that she has been treated effectively. One Saturday I took my oldest daughter in for a sick visit, she was complaining about an ear ache, to the Alameda office, where I see that Dr. Gregory Guthrie has stocked all of his examination rooms with the creationist clap-trap, "The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible." I had seen this book in an office on a previous visit, but mistakenly thought another parent had left it there. Now that I've seen this in another room, alongside with other tomes from the Bay Area Fellowship, alarm bells start ringing in my head. And a conversation with Dr. Guthrie, "I put that book in all my waiting rooms," and three different scripts for anti-biotics convinced me that I never want to see him near my child again. On Ash Wednesday I had a 2:45 appointment scheduled with my regular pediatrician, Dr. Tessa Perez at the Saratoga office, for my youngest daughter's 4 month check-up. I was finally brought back to the doctor's office at 4:10 (I have to pick up my oldest at school by 4:30, a fact I brought to the intake nurse starting at 3:30). I brought up Dr. Guthrie to Dr. Perez and she defended him, and proceeded to explain to me that she was a "conservative Catholic who didn't believe in evolution" and that everything that I was taught about evolution by Father Norris in my 11th grade Catholic Dogma class was wrong. And now it's 4:23, I have 7 minutes to make my 7 minute drive to pick-up my oldest daughter, and no time to get my youngest's immunizations. |

Waited 2 hours......never saw her. If you value your time, go elsewhere...., Mar 15, 2012 I'm sure she is a fine doctor...if you ever get the chance to see her. Had an appt at 4 pm; the nurse called me that morning and said Dr. Pang wanted to know if I could come in earlier, at 3 pm. I got there at 3 pm with my 5 month old son....3:30...4:00..4:30...4:45...even at that point I figured she must be really behind. Finally at 4:55 pm I told them I was leaving. The clinic closes at 5 pm. The nurse asked if I could just wait 5 more minutes. No, I couldn't. I was already there for 2 hours. No excuses - even if there was some emergency or she forgot me or SOMETHING...someone should have told me. I would have understood. Worst experience I've ever had. She had the audacity to call my husband and ask why we left....WE WAITED FOR TWO HOURS. That's why. Unacceptable. There are tons of better pediatricians in Seattle - go elsewhere. |

misdiagnosed and dismissed by this doctor serious condition..., Jan 6, 2012 Extremely friendly and bright, saw him for years while he couldn't figure out my medical issue. When it worsened extremely and I fell violently ill for weeks, I pressed him for an answer and he became angry, dismissive and misdiagnosed me. Finally, he sent a referral in the mail, with instructions to call his office, but his office couldn't find a specialist for me (liver) and he put no urgency on the referral. I had to find my own surgeon and it took me months to get in as a self referred person. Surgeon wanted to operate the following week, it was that serious. |

poor service, inaccurate information, disregard for patient values or input..., Dec 18, 2011 Dr. McLemore treated me for anal condyloma. I believe she recklessly destroyed a lot of healthy tissue. She cut me up and burned me really bad and she became irritated when I complained about my pain and (temporary) disfigurement. McLemore took a large biopsy from an area I believe was healthy before the operation. It took me 2 months to recover from the biopsy and for my anus to start to regain a non-disfigured appearance. The biopsy also caused me uncontrollable pain. The biopsy turned out to have no clinical value; the biopsy result was not relevant to future treatment decisions. I was left with a small, visible scar on my anal margin from the biopsy. Dr. McLemore gave me unrealistic expectation for recovery time and pain levels. I beleive McLemore behaved with negligence and I have asked for a review of my case. McLemore seemed cold an uncaring toward me most times I saw her. McLemore insisted on not giving me any say in how the procedure was done in my case, but she refused to apologize or admit wrongdoing when her preferred method went wrong. I believe that if you have a negative outcome, McLemore will be cold and uncaring toward you. I believe she will blame you and say it was your fault for signing all the paperwork. And there is more paperwork than you will believe. Most of the paperwork I signed was immediately before the operation and this also makes me suspicious. Obviously, I don't recommend this doctor. |

unresponsive, indifferent medical office with lack of urgency..., Nov 29, 2011 Staff is cold, indifferent, with no sense of urgency. I was extremely concerned about some test results but when I called every few days to ask if they were in, I was made to feel that I was bothering them and there was no attempt to give me an idea of when they would be in, or to expedite results more quickly. I waited a half four to see the doctor, she looked at her watch and made me feel rushed when I was in for the exam. Medical advice seemed reasonable but the lack of urgency or empathy made it a frustrating experience. |
