Provided extremely poor treatment for my father's cancer..., Jan 25, 2012

Dr. D. treated my dad's throat cancer (a term he never used with any of us). Dad responded very well to chemo and would have to remain on chemo the rest of his life. (His tumor in his neck had burst and he had a nasty wound that he had to deal with, but even it was doing well as he was switched to a milder chemo routine to keep the cancer from growing. And he was doing really well with that treatment.) Dad developed a knee infection and Dr. D stopped all treatment until knee doc released him. Dr. D continued to ignore my phone calls that dad's neck wound was really looking bad, saying he could do nothing for him at this time. Finally, knee doc suggested knee treatment be put on hold so cancer could be treated. So Dad went to see Dr. D and he still said there wasn't anything he could do right now, and he refused to look at his neck when asked to (of course, dad kept it bandaged). We brought dad to Louisville for treatment, but it was too late by then. The oncology doctors in Louisville were just mortified at his neck and the treatment he had received. They found it unimaginable that Dr. D. never looked at his neck (the actual cancer) and ignored his cancer treatment during the course of treatment of the knee infection (9 weeks approximately). Of course, we are heartbroken. I only tell my story in the hopes of helping someone else. In the end, dad regretted mine and my sister's pleas to get a second opinion in Louisville from the beginning. That one step could have changed everything. I hope this review helps someone make a better choice in choosing their oncologist.
Prusmack has left me disabled and his complacent PA after a common 2 level fusion @ 90 days post op ..., Oct 3, 2011

Prusmack has left me disabled and his complacent PA after a common 2 level fusion @ 90 days post op CT scan and x-ray the PA certifies me solid fused and lifts all restrictions even though i failed at PT and told them several times my symptoms where the same as before, it fell on deaf ears, at 7 months of complaints screaming a MRI was done again the PA reads the film on his own again and states to me all is perfect its me and not the fusions its stress and time off work / 5 weeks later i was having emergency surgery to remove my C-7 it was now PULVERIZED $17,000 in titanium parts removed from my neck thrown in trash along with what was left of my vertebra $52,000 for the first surgery $112,000 for the second / now 12 months off work i was supposed to be off 3 or 4 months/ i have never returned to work and most likely never will, the very original CT and X-RAYS done at 90 days ALL SAY THE FUSION ARE INCOMPLETE FROM THE RADIOLOGIST/ I must assume prusmack never read the report or the film and his PA OH the MRI that was done at 7 months the radiologist called dr prusmack personally to tell him my neck was psuedoarthrosisi and he didn't tell me until weeks later then pressed upon me i need emergence surgery i was in grave danger why didn't he tell me when he was told? he`s a coward, they never rea any of my reports from the radiologist in the 10 months if they did then the lied to me the whole time, i got copied latter on all the films and reports and had them studied by other spine surgeons/ none of them agreed with anything the PA told me or wrote in his reports and one of the doctor apologized numerous times for what had happened to me,he said you have a very hard future in front of you, Doctor prusamck later abandons me and states a few weeks after the second major spine surgery and he wired my spine together at rear and in front a much longer plate and screws the pain was and still is brutal he states all my pain is gone any my symptoms are all gone, i hadn't even

Doctor Ichtertz is wonderful and anyone stating otherwise is full of BS..., Aug 21, 2011

Only people that owe Dr Ichtertz money or are in dire need of money say bogus things about him in order to get money. It is called entitlement and desperation. Sad but true. Dr. Ichtertz is a wonderful and very experienced Doctor. It is a shame that they don't put people in person for false acusations and for commiting lies in order to make financial gains.

I took my dad to see Dr. Haft for COPD. Dr. Haft was very considerate and honest in his discussion and rational for treatment. He spent a great deal of time sorting out ways to improve dad's quality of life and wellbeing. WE are very thankful for his excelletn care
